Sassoon SS13 The Muses Collection

Thought I'd add a little post of Sassoon's S/S collection. I'm always a big fan of their work and they are a huge inspiration
I'm not going to ramble on, its just mainly for the images, the gentlemen has to be my favorite image, great use of colour and texture within a really bold haircut.
Let me know what you think!!

Party parrot - coral bliss

I don't know about you girls.. And guys;) but I've become a serious lipstick addict! At the weekend I lost one of my lipsticks so I purchased it again yesterday! Along with another addition!
Both M.A.C lippys...

 - Coral Bliss is from the cremesheen range so it's really creamy and glossy on the lips. Being blonde and very pale I was a little apprehensive about wearing a lipstick with an orange tone but have been pleasantly surprised that this shade suits me! It's quite pale and not too vibrant.

-Party Parrot!! - what a shade ! From the matte range so it's very vivid, pink but with a tinge of coral. It's from M.A.C's New limited range so stock up while it's available! Loving this already, I know it's still cold and we're not feeling too summery yet but who said you can't brighten up a little in February?

Are there any shades you would recommend for S/S13? By M.A.C ? What other brands would you recommend?
Comment-Comment!

the S&S13 merge

 Hey!
Thought I'd share some of my color work from the last few weeks!
I find that generations above me are far more dramatic with their hair than us young-ens!
We are most definitely still in winter, however I try to move my clients into their spring/summer colors earlier on!
I'm working on coming away from deeper shades and merging into adding lighter slices/pieces, to give us a new base to work on when the sun hits us!!
Cutting work in first 3 pictures are by a gentlemen who I work closely with, he creates sharp, geometric cuts which give me an exciting platform to work on.

the powder statement

Out of all the lovely products I use in the salon hair powder has got to be my no.1 favorite!
For a lot of people who use wax in their hair i recommend this also- easier to use, long lasting and non greasy!
I've found my long locked ladies with hair that's lacking in volume, love this also!
Simply shake the powder into root area and work it in with your fingers! - almost like scratching your head.
Unlike other products , hair powder will not disappear until you've washed it out, so next day hair can be amazing also! Tip your head upside down, give it a shake and it will bounce up again!
I use both of the powders below! L'oreal super dust has a great applicator and distributes a good amount of product. Retails around £12
Schwarzkopf got2be is also brilliant, the applicator holes are more spaced apart so the dust if very spread out, however this retails around £4 and is sometimes on offer!
Both these little pots don't look as if they hold much product but i can tell you that they last forever! I keep waiting for mine to run out!

Happy Powdering

Which Mythic Morrocan?

Its safe to say we have all gone mad for oil! For a fine haired girl lacking volume, I wouldn't usually choose to use this on myself but as I've seen excellent results on my clients I have jumped on the band wagon!
I mainly use L'Oreal Mythic oil in the salon, its brilliant for all hair types - fine to thick, and can be applied before or after blow-drying. Retails at approx £15.95.
Morrocan Oil usually retails around £30 which some of you may think is a stretch but it lasts forever! (as does Mythic Oil). I got this on offer at Salon international, along with a travel kit with samples of shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and the oil for fine hair too. Its slightly heavier than the Mythic Oil however I've been using it on my hair and have been pleased with the results! The shampoo and conditioner were lovely to use and smelt great, but my hair felt extremely flat after ward! The mask has been fabulous though!

Do you recommend any other oil products? & are you a fan of any/all of the above?
